1. Scope
This policy explains how the developer of PalPanel ("we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use the PalPanel mobile app and this policy page. Third-party websites, app stores, and device manufacturers are governed by their own privacy policies.
2. Information stored on your device
To display and restore your remote-control panels, PalPanel stores the following locally:
- device names and types, brands, room names, and IR code-set selections;
- panel states and preferences, such as temperature, mode, fan speed, and panel appearance; and
- app state, such as whether you accepted the agreements or completed onboarding.
These settings are not uploaded to our servers. You can delete devices or rooms in the app. Uninstalling the app removes its local data, although your operating system or device backup may retain a copy according to your settings.
3. Network and system information
At launch, the app checks network connectivity and contacts an eligibility service to determine service availability for the current version. As is normal for internet services, that service may receive your IP address, request time, and basic network logs. The request does not include your device names, rooms, IR code sets, or Bluetooth scan results.
When you view or purchase Premium, Apple App Store / StoreKit may return storefront country or region, offer eligibility, product information, subscription status and expiry, and results needed to complete a transaction. The app store processes payment-card details and billing addresses; we cannot access them.
When you visit this policy page, its hosting service may receive standard access logs such as IP address, browser type, requested path, and access time. This page does not set cookies, use local storage, or load third-party advertising or analytics.
4. Bluetooth and nearby devices
PalPanel uses Bluetooth to scan for and connect to a compatible IR blaster, then sends the remote commands you select to that accessory. During scanning, the app handles the accessory identifier, advertised name, and signal strength. This information is used only for discovery, connection, and connection status, and is not uploaded to us. You may revoke Bluetooth permission in system settings, but remote commands will no longer work.
5. How we use information
We process information only as needed to:
- provide remote panels, room management, Bluetooth connection, and local restoration;
- confirm Premium products, trial eligibility, and subscription access;
- maintain service availability and security and diagnose network failures; and
- comply with applicable law, regulatory duties, or valid legal requests.
We do not sell personal information, use it for targeted advertising, or use advertising identifiers to track you across apps or websites.
6. Service providers and disclosure
Limited information may be handled by the following services to provide the functions above:
- Apple App Store / StoreKit, for products, trial eligibility, purchases, renewals, restoring purchases, and refunds;
- network infrastructure providers that host the launch eligibility check and generate necessary security and operational logs; and
- external services you choose to open, such as the accessory purchase link, system share sheet, or app-store review page.
We require service providers processing information for us to use it only for agreed purposes and provide protection no less protective than this policy and applicable law require. We may also disclose information when required by law, necessary to protect users or the public, or needed to address legal claims. Otherwise, we do not provide your information to third parties for their independent marketing.
7. Retention and deletion
Local settings remain until you delete the relevant content in the app or uninstall it. Apple retains subscription records under its policies. Basic eligibility-service logs are kept only as long as necessary for security, troubleshooting, and legal obligations, then deleted or de-identified.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product, law, or our operations change. We will provide an in-app notice or another appropriate notice for material changes and revise this page accordingly. Please review the latest version before continuing to use PalPanel.
